The Vision Board is a flexible planning workspace for ideas, milestones, and life goals.
How vision boards work
- A Board contains multiple Groups.
- Each Card holds title, category, target date, amount, priority, and a private page body.
- Cards can include updates, images, and custom properties.
- Use the top control row to switch boards, switch Board/List view, and filter cards by tag.
- Use the
...menu in that row for board actions (including Share, duplicate, rename, archive, and tag management). - Group titles are edited inline: click a group title to rename it directly.
- Group delete is available via the trash icon in the group header (when more than one group exists).
Creating cards
- Click Add card inside a group (or from list view).
- Rask creates a draft card immediately and opens the card editor.
- If you close an empty draft, you’ll be asked whether to delete it.
Card editor
Open a card to edit its title, target date, amount, priority and tags. You can add private notes, written updates, images and tasks. Use the share control to add an adviser-visible summary; shared goals require a target date.
Tracking progress
- Add a target amount to your card.
- Select Record progress to expand the fields inside the Progress section.
- Enter your current value and the as-at date. Add a note if you wish.
- Select Save progress and wait for confirmation. The fields close and your progress appears in the same section. Select Cancel to close the fields without saving.
Enter the total you have reached, rather than an extra contribution. For a 100,000 target, updates of 25,000, 50,000 and 75,000 show 25%, 50% and 75%. Use the same units as your target. Rask does not convert currencies or income periods for these entries.
The card shows your latest dated value, percentage, remaining amount and milestones. Its detail view includes the history and a chart. A past-dated update adds history without replacing a newer balance. A lower balance can reduce your progress. Until your first update, progress is shown as not recorded.
Use the Chunk size icon beside the eye button to break the goal into smaller milestones. Choose 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 10%, 20% or 50% from the menu. Ten percent gives ten milestones and 5% gives twenty, with a final milestone at 100% even when the last chunk is smaller. Existing saved chunk sizes remain until you choose a new one. Changing the chunk size does not change your recorded values.
The tracker starts minimised, showing its current value, percentage and progress bar. Use the eye button to expand it for milestones and the chart, or minimise it again. Rask remembers your choice for each goal on this browser.
For a debt or another reducing goal, choose Reducing down to my target when recording your first update and provide a starting value. The target can be zero. You can change direction after removing all active progress entries.
Select a milestone to open the first entry that reached it, or select a chart dot to edit that specific entry. Update its value, as-at date or note, then select Save changes. Hover over a dot to see its date, value and note. Corrections keep the same entry in your history. If someone else has changed it, reload the goal before trying again. Changing the target recalculates progress while keeping your history. Reaching 100% does not automatically mark the card complete.
Financial planning goals
You can add up to ten financial planning goals in Forms → Goals. The compact progress preview opens the linked card in Vision Board, where you can record updates and view milestones and history. It stays compact in Goals regardless of your preferred view in Vision Board.
Select a goal’s title to edit its name, then select Save goal. New goals show Goal 1 title, Goal 2 title, and so on until you name them. Choose a Priority from 1 to 10; 1 is highest and 10 is lowest. Goals can share a priority. Select the information icon beside Priority for a reminder.
Select Link to Vision Board on a saved goal. If there are no existing cards to choose from, Rask creates and opens a linked card automatically. Otherwise, choose a card under Link to existing Vision Board card?, or select Create new Vision Board card. Existing cards must have a matching target amount. The goal and card use the same progress entries, notes, milestones and chunk size. Existing entries are kept when you link a card.
For a linked card, change the target amount in either Goals or the Vision Board; both views update together and your recorded progress stays unchanged. Removing its card or board hides it from the board without removing the goal’s progress history. Recording progress does not change a submitted advice record.
Link an asset or liability balance
Open the linked Vision Board card from Goals, then select Link balance beside Record progress in its tracker. Choose an asset, mortgage or portfolio you own. Rask records its latest available AUD value and checks for new values weekly. Debt goals track down from their starting balance towards their target, usually zero. Set the target before connecting.
The linked label shows the balance’s actual date. A weekly check does not create a fresh valuation: manually maintained balances still need updating in Net worth. Unavailable or stale portfolio values do not become zero. Imported chart points come from the source; correct that source rather than editing an imported point.
Use Unlink balance to stop future updates. Choose Unlink and keep history to retain the recorded values, or Unlink and remove imported history to remove only entries added by that connection. Manually recorded progress remains.
Sharing and permissions
- Board sharing is board-specific.
- Users with edit access can update board content.
- Recording progress requires edit access to the board. Staff previews do not include your update history or private notes.
Deep links
Vision supports direct card links:
/vision?boardId=<boardId>&cardId=<cardId>/vision/<boardId>/<cardId>
You can also open a card as a dedicated full-page editor from inside the card drawer.
Board tag management
- Open board actions (
...) and choose Manage tags. - Add, rename, or delete board tag options.
- Renaming/removing a tag updates existing card tags in that board.
Legacy links using selected=<goalId> still open the matching card when possible.
