Rask Advice — Financial Services Guide
Version 1.0 · Last updated: 5 May 2026
This Financial Services Guide (FSG) is issued by Rask Advice Pty Ltd (ABN 68 683 296 291), Corporate Authorised Representative No. 1313447 of Rask Licensing Pty Ltd (ABN 32 681 073 478, AFSL 563 907). It applies to the personal financial advice services provided to clients through the Rask platform at app.rask.au — including the /plan workspace where Statements of Advice are presented.
Rask Advice operates alongside The Rask Group Pty Ltd. The Rask Group provides the platform, content, tools, memberships, and general financial information; only Rask Advice is authorised to provide personal financial advice. If you are looking for the platform-wide FSG (general advice, tools, memberships), see /legal/fsg.
Purpose of this FSG
This guide is designed to help you decide whether to use the personal advice services Rask Advice provides. It explains:
- Who we are and the financial services we are authorised to provide.
- How personal advice is delivered through app.rask.au and the documents you can expect.
- How we and our advisers are paid, and how we manage conflicts of interest.
- Our privacy and data-handling commitments.
- How to make a complaint and how disputes are resolved.
Not independent. Rask Advice may receive insurance commissions from product providers, and Rask businesses may receive subscription, advertising, sponsorship, or referral revenue. For these reasons, and as required by law, we do not claim to be independent, impartial, or unbiased.

Services we are authorised to provide
Rask Advice is authorised, under AFSL 563 907, to provide personal financial product advice and dealing services in relation to:
- Superannuation products (including SMSFs to the extent of our authorisations).
- Retirement planning and retirement income strategies.
- Portfolio construction and ongoing portfolio management.
- Managed investment schemes (including managed funds and ETFs).
- Securities (including direct ASX-listed shares).
- Personal risk insurance (life, TPD, trauma, and income protection).
We do not provide credit advice, tax (financial) advice beyond the limits of our authorisations, legal advice, or estate-planning legal services. Where these are relevant to your situation, we will recommend that you obtain specialist advice.
How personal advice is delivered through app.rask.au
Personal advice from Rask Advice is delivered through the /plan workspace inside app.rask.au and is clearly identified as personal advice. The typical journey is:
- Engagement. You are matched with one of our authorised representatives. Before personal advice is provided, your adviser will deliver this FSG and confirm the agreed scope of advice and fees.
- Discovery. You complete a fact-find and may securely upload supporting documents (e.g. super statements, payslips, insurance schedules) into your encrypted client vault.
- Strategy and modelling. Your adviser builds your strategy using Rask's modelling tools. AI-assisted features may be used to draft, summarise, or check work, but every recommendation that reaches you has been authored and reviewed by your human adviser.
- Statement of Advice (SoA). Personal recommendations are presented in a formal Statement of Advice, clearly marked as such, and made available in /plan. The SoA explains the basis for our advice, the products recommended, the fees, any conflicts, and any alternatives considered.
- Implementation. Where you accept our advice, your adviser will assist with implementation. You may receive an Authority to Proceed for your records.
- Ongoing service. If you elect ongoing advice, your service is documented in an Ongoing Service Agreement and is reviewed annually. Further written advice is provided as a Record of Advice (RoA) where appropriate.
Documents you may receive
- Financial Services Guide (FSG) — this document.
- Statement of Advice (SoA) — when we first provide you with personal advice.
- Record of Advice (RoA) — for further advice where your circumstances have not significantly changed.
- Product Disclosure Statements (PDS) and Target Market Determinations (TMD) — for any financial product recommended to you.
- Ongoing Service Agreement and Fee Disclosure Statement — where you have engaged us for ongoing advice.
How we are paid
Fees and remuneration are agreed with you in writing before any personal advice is provided. The exact amounts that apply to you will be set out in your engagement and in your SoA.
- Initial advice fee. A fixed fee for preparing your Statement of Advice. The amount is agreed up front based on the scope and complexity of your advice and is paid either as an upfront fee or in monthly instalments.
- Ongoing advice fee. Where you choose ongoing advice, a fixed annual fee is agreed and paid as an upfront amount or in monthly instalments. The fee is reviewed and re-agreed each year.
- Coaching sessions. Stand-alone 60-minute coaching sessions are charged at $550 per session.
- Personal risk insurance commissions. Where we arrange a risk insurance policy, the insurer typically pays Rask an upfront commission and an ongoing monthly commission. These commissions are paid by the insurer (not deducted from your premium as a separate charge) and are disclosed in your SoA. We do not charge a separate advice fee for risk insurance advice when commissions are received.
- No commissions on investment products. We do not receive commissions on superannuation, managed investments, or securities recommendations. Conflicted remuneration on those products has been banned in Australia.
- Adviser remuneration. Our advisers are remunerated through a combination of salary and performance-linked components governed by our supervision and conflicts-management policies.
Conflicts of interest
- Insurance commissions. The commission an insurer pays may differ between products. We manage this conflict by recommending products on the basis of suitability for you, comparing options, and disclosing the commission amounts in your SoA.
- Group revenue streams. Other Rask businesses may receive subscription revenue from memberships, advertising and sponsorship revenue, or referral fees from approved partners. These are managed separately and are not a basis for personal advice recommendations.
- Related-party arrangements. Where a recommendation involves a related-party product or service, this is disclosed clearly in your SoA and is only made if it is in your best interests.
- Governance. Conflicts are managed through our compliance framework, supervision, training, file reviews, and our Conflicts of Interest Policy maintained by Rask Licensing.
Privacy and data handling
To provide personal advice we collect personal information about you, including identification, financial information, employment and family details, goals, and supporting documents. We handle this information under the Australian Privacy Principles and our AFSL obligations.
- Documents you upload are stored in an encrypted, per-client vault and accessed by authorised staff only, with role-based access controls and audit logging.
- We use selected service providers to operate the platform (including cloud infrastructure, secure document storage, payments, messaging, and AI providers under data-handling agreements).
- Where AI is used to assist your adviser, we apply data-minimisation controls and a human review step before any output is presented to you.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy and Data Use Policy.
Professional indemnity insurance
Rask Licensing Pty Ltd holds Professional Indemnity (PI) insurance that satisfies the requirements of section 912B of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). The PI cover applies to the conduct of Rask Advice Pty Ltd and our authorised representatives while they are authorised by Rask Licensing, including for work done while authorised that may be the subject of a claim made after the authorisation has ended.
