So you want to make sure your data is locked down? We take security incredibly seriously at Rask, but there are a few simple steps you can take to make your account even safer.
The Big Three
1. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
This is the single most important step you can take. MFA ensures that even if someone steals your password, they can’t get into your account. Set it up now in your Security Settings, where the Security posture panel shows whether your account still has any missing protections. You can reach it quickly from the app sidebar via Security.
Note for Staff: Multi-Factor Authentication is mandatory for all Rask staff and advisers to ensure the highest level of protection for our community’s data.
Sensitive pages now require core security checks
To protect higher-risk areas, the app now requires both:
- a verified email address
- MFA enabled
before opening sensitive pages like Cashflow and the Document vault.
If either check is missing, you’ll see a clear in-app security prompt with a direct link to fix it in Security Settings.
2. Use a Unique, Strong Password
Never reuse a password from another site (like your email or social media). If that other site is ever breached, hackers will try those same credentials on every other service, including Rask.
3. Keep your contact details current
Ensure your mobile number and email address in your Profile are always up to date. We use these to verify your identity and send important security alerts.
How Rask protects you
- Encryption: Your data is encrypted both while it’s travelling over the internet and while it’s stored in our database.
- Read-Only Feeds: Our bank and portfolio integrations are “read-only.” This means Rask can see your data to provide insights, but we can never move your money or change your investments.
- Session Timeouts: We automatically sign you out after a period of inactivity to protect you if you leave your computer unattended.
What to do if you suspect a breach
If you think someone else has accessed your account, or if you’ve lost your MFA device:
- Change your password immediately if you can still log in.
- Contact us at
support@rask.com.auor message your adviser via the Messaging dashboard.
