Terms of Use
Version 2.0 · Last updated: 5 May 2026
These terms govern your use of Rask — including rask.au, app.rask.au, and any related services (the "platform") — provided by The Rask Group Pty Ltd (ACN 622 810 995), Corporate Authorised Representative No. 1280930 of Rask Licensing Pty Ltd (AFSL 563 907). By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old or have legal authority to bind the organisation you represent.
- You must not be barred from receiving the services under Australian law.
- If you continue to use Rask after we update these terms, you accept the updated terms. We will give you reasonable notice of material changes.
2. About Rask and the advice boundary
- Rask memberships (Free, Pro, Super, Ultra) provide general financial information, education, tools, research, and member experiences. No membership includes personal financial advice.
- Personal financial advice is provided only by Rask Advice Pty Ltd (CAR No. 1313447) under AFSL 563 907, and only after a separate engagement, sufficient fact-find information, and the formal advice documents required by law.
- Personal advice is delivered through the /plan workspace inside app.rask.au. Statements of Advice (SoAs) and Records of Advice (RoAs) are clearly identified as such inside /plan and are authored and reviewed by your assigned authorised representative before they reach you. See the Advice FSG.
- We do not provide credit advice, tax (financial) advice beyond the limits of our authorisations, legal advice, or estate-planning legal services. Obtain independent specialist advice where appropriate.
- AI-assisted experiences are supervised, but AI outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate — see Section 5.
3. Accounts and access
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- Notify us promptly at compliance@rask.au if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Multi-factor authentication is required for the most sensitive features (including cashflow / open banking and the document vault).
- We may update, suspend, or discontinue features where legally permitted, and will give you reasonable notice for material changes.
4. Fees, billing, and cancellation
- Membership pricing. Rask Free: $0. Pro: $39.99/month or $299/year. Super: $199/month or $1,499/year. Ultra: $999/month or $5,000/year. All prices are in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST where applicable.
- Payment processor. Subscription billing is processed by Stripe. Your card details are stored with Stripe; Rask does not store card numbers.
- Charging. Membership fees are charged in advance according to the monthly or yearly billing option you choose, and renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancellation. You can cancel from inside your account at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you continue to have access until then.
- Cooling-off / money-back guarantee. A 7-day cooling-off period applies to new subscription services from the time the subscription commences. If you cancel within 7 days of starting a new subscription, contact compliance@rask.au for a refund. After the 7-day period, fees already paid are non-refundable unless required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law). We will refund where the law requires it.
- Bespoke services. Separate invoices, proposals, or service fees may apply for non-membership services and will be disclosed in writing before you proceed.
- Pricing changes. We will notify you of pricing changes before they take effect for your next billing cycle.
- Personal advice fees. Personal advice fees are governed separately by your engagement with Rask Advice Pty Ltd and disclosed in your Statement of Advice or engagement documents — see the Advice FSG.
5. AI features, content, and limitations
- Rask uses AI to draft, summarise, retrieve, and assist with routine work inside the platform.
- We use selected AI providers (currently OpenAI, Anthropic, Google (Gemini), and xAI (Grok)) under data-handling agreements that prevent training on Rask data.
- AI outputs can be incorrect or incomplete. Always verify before acting on them.
- Do not rely on AI outputs as personal advice unless they are delivered to you formally as part of a Statement of Advice or Record of Advice from Rask Advice Pty Ltd, signed off by your authorised representative.
- For full details of how we handle data in AI flows, see Section 5 of our Privacy Policy and our Data Use Policy.
6. Your content and documents
- You must have the right to upload and share any content you provide to Rask.
- Do not upload unlawful, offensive, harmful, or infringing material.
- You retain ownership of content you upload. You grant us a non-exclusive licence to store, process, and present your content as needed to operate and improve the service for you, in line with our Privacy Policy.
- Documents you upload to your client vault are stored in encrypted, per-client folders accessible only to you and the staff/advisers you have granted access.
7. Our intellectual property
- Rask owns or licenses all platform code, UI, content, course material, brand marks, and tools, except for content you provide.
- You may use the platform for your personal or organisational purposes under these terms. You must not copy, redistribute, scrape, mine, or commercially exploit our content, software, or brand without our prior written permission.
- Trademarks, logos, and product names belong to their respective owners.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to breach security, probe for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure, scrape or harvest data, or interfere with the platform's operation.
- Do not run automated systems against the platform without our written permission.
- Do not misrepresent your identity, impersonate others, or use Rask to send unlawful or deceptive communications.
- Do not use Rask to upload material that infringes copyright or any other rights.
- We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, breach of these terms, or to protect the platform or other users.
9. Privacy and data handling
- Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
- Our Data Use Policy explains the trust narrative — why we use data and what it powers.
- For cashflow / open-banking data, the Consumer Data Right Privacy Safeguards apply — see Section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
- We are subject to the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches scheme and will notify you and the OAIC of any eligible data breach affecting your information.
10. Availability, changes, and third-party services
- We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may schedule maintenance windows and respond to urgent incidents at any time.
- We may change or retire features to improve the service or to meet legal, security, or commercial requirements.
- The platform integrates with third-party services (e.g. open-banking partners, portfolio platforms, Stripe, AI providers). Their services are governed by their own terms; we are not responsible for their independent acts.
11. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other non-excludable consumer guarantees.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special loss, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, and loss of data not caused by our negligence.
- Where we are liable for breach of a non-excludable consumer guarantee, our liability is, at our option, limited to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having the relevant service resupplied — except where the law prevents that limitation.
- The platform provides general information unless personal advice has been formally provided to you by Rask Advice Pty Ltd. We are not responsible for investment performance or decisions you make based on general information.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Rask against losses, costs, and expenses we suffer as a result of your breach of these terms, your unlawful or wrongful use of the platform, or your infringement of any third-party right — except to the extent caused or contributed to by us.
13. Termination
- You may stop using the service at any time. Fees already paid are non-refundable unless required by law.
- We may suspend or terminate your access for breach, misuse, fraud, security risk, or for legal reasons.
- On termination, sections that by their nature should survive — including IP, liability, indemnity, governing law, and dispute resolution — continue to apply.
- We will retain records as required by our regulatory obligations, even after termination — see the Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Disputes are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and applicable federal courts. For financial-services disputes, you may also be entitled to use AFCA — see Section 16.
15. Severability and entire agreement
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the terms continue to apply.
- These terms, the Privacy Policy, the Data Use Policy, the Cookie Policy, the FSG, and (where applicable) the Advice FSG and your Statement of Advice form the entire agreement between you and Rask in relation to the platform and the services.
